St John’s Wine Rooms is a unique independent restaurant and wine bar situated in the St John’s conservation area in Bromsgrove. Frustrated by a lack of good restaurants and bars in the area for people over thirty, we decided to create our own place especially for lovers of great food and drink.
We simply love wine. Our passion is for great food, prepared and presented beautifully, paired with the perfect wine. Our food is local, fresh and seasonal, and our wine list has been lovingly prepared to give you the best dining experience Bromsgrove can offer.
Owned by proud lifelong Bromsgrovians, we have created a venue for great food, drink and relaxation in a lovely, unique setting. Our aim is to allow our guests the finest experience, whether they are having lunch, Sunday lunch, dinner, our speciality sharing boards, or simply enjoying a coffee at any time of day. We pride ourselves on being one of the most popular venues for Sunday lunch in Bromsgrove.
Next door to the iconic Steps House (which we also own) St John’s Wine Rooms has the traditional charm associated with a Georgian building whilst encompassing all of the modern luxuries you would expect from Bromsgrove’s best destination.
Set across four rooms, we can seat eighty inside and can cater for an extra sixty outside on our unique roof terrace and patio area.
Our colleagues are very important to us – we aim to employ the finest people to deliver the best in food and drink that Bromsgrove can offer.
We have two unique rooms available for private dining, celebrations, Christenings, wakes and business meetings. Please note that for wakes, whole venue hire with buffet is available at specific times by arrangement.
Triple Aspect Room
This charming first floor room has three beautiful windows and an original fireplace which has been lovingly restored. It features a chandelier and art deco wall lighting and can accommodate up to 24 seated guests or 50 buffet-style. It is ideal for private dining, parties and all kinds of meetings.
Our Secret Room is set on the ground floor and is so-called because it has been rediscovered after many decades of literally being hidden away. It has a unique atmosphere and can be set for up to 16 guests. It is ideal for private dining, small parties and meetings.
